Airplane Mode bug

I have my Apple watch set to mirror my iPhone. When I put the phone into airplane mode, the watch also automatically enters airplane mode. When I turn airplane mode off on the iPhone, the watch remains in airplane mode. I have to manually go into the watch and turn off the airplane mode on the watch to re-establish the connection. I have tried this multiple times and have restarted the watch multiple times, and it consistently fails each time. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is there a fix, or is it a bug that needs to be addressed in the OS?

Mac Pro (Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Doesn't enable Airplane mode on my watch when I enable it on my iPhone.

Thank you for the reply. It never occurred to me that they would design it that way. It seems counter-intuitive. Hopefully they will add that feature down the road.

Actually, I've never tried Airplane Mode mirror either. I am learning along with you ... I just happened to find this addressed in the User Guide as a result of your question.

When the Apple Watch is in Airplane mode, all sending and receiving functions are turned off. By which means would the iPhone be able to tell the watch to get out of Airplane mode? It might be counter-intuitive but until connectionless connection is invented, the behavior will stay this way ;-)
