iPhone 5 suddenly VERY hot, black screened, and made a humming sound.

My iPhone 5 (which I have kept in excellent condition) suddenly turned black, then became VERY VERY VERY hot to the point to where i cannot handle it. I removed the SIM card from the side and the watermark is still clear, but suddenly it made a faint humming noise. I have tried to reset my iPhone multiple times but it has not worked.

I am planning on letting the phone cool down before i plug it back into the charger.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem before I attempt to take it into the Apple store? Thanks!
