Does Iphone 4S works better with iOS8?

y question is if I really should update my Iphone 4S 8gb to the new iOS 8 or not?

Main concerns, screen size, already seen some people comment about the gallery when they are

seeing pictures, some pictures can't see it full size.

Lag in screen transitions, when changing from one app to another.

Space left in storage after the update.

Are the benefits worth the update to an Iphone 4S 8GB?
