Podcast updating slowly on Apple TV

We like to watch the German nightly news, Die Tagesschau, as a podcast every evening. The live show in Germany airs at 8:00 pm German time, so by the time we're ready to watch it at around 8:00 pm here on the East Coast of the US the podcast has usually already been posted. What happens very often, though, is that while the most recent episode is available on our iPads and Macs, the podcast app on the Apple TV hasn't yet updated and only shows older episodes as being available.

When this happens we are still able to watch the new episode on the App TV via Airplay from one of the other devices, of course, but we're wondering why (or how) the Apple TV is slower to update than everything else. Isn't it just hitting the same servers as the other devices? I searched in vain for a "force refresh" button in the Apple TV app.
