delete multiple message in iMessage

Is there a way to delete multiple messages from iMessages on my iMac? I get a lot of one-time junk texts from various alerts I need to have set up, on my phone I delete them right away, but then when I get home at the end of the day I'll have 20-50 of these texts sitting in my iMessage, I'd love to clear them out but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to delete multiple texts (or an easy way to delete texts in general, is right-click then choosing delete really the only way to do it?), I feel like there must be an easy way to do it that I'm just missing?
