How many email addresses can I assign to one contact on my iphone 5

I don't know of any documented limit, but I have had up to seven or eight in one contact. How many are you trying to add?

Are you syncing to something other than iCloud for as far as Contacts are concerned? If so, the source may limit the number of email addresses.

What happens to lead you to believe you can only add three? Can you describe what you are doing and what happens when you try?

Also, what are your settings settings in Settings App > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > for each of the accounts you have set up?

I understand you are are using the Contacts app. The app itself doesn't appear put a limit on the number of email addresses (or if it does, it is way above what you are trying to do). However, if you are syncing to an online source (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.), the number of addresses that can be used could quite possibly be limited to what that source permits. Who, for example, is your email provider? And under the settings are you syncing contacts with that provider.
