Can Transcend StoreJet25M3 external hard drive be used on both Mac air and PC?

Hi, I have recently bought a Transcend StoreJet25M3 external hard drive and would wish to use this on both my Mac air and PC. But the folders and files i saved on the hard drive can only be read on MAC air when i plug in and i can't copy and paste files from my desktop on my MAC air to the external hard drive. Is there a way i could use/save files and photos from my MAC air to the external hard drive and still use this drive on my PC when needed?

Click on the drive, choose Get Info from the File menu, and check the format.

If it's listed as Windows NT filesystem, reformat it as MS-DOS or exFAT as desired, or install software which allows Mac OS X to write to NTFS drives.

If it's formatted as FAT32 or exFAT, use the Disk Utility's Repair Disk command on it.
