School question - Free apps and iOS distribution

Hello. We're starting to plan for next school year and I was just wondering if there is a limit to the number of iOS devices I may put even a free app on? The reason I ask is because a number of our staff would like apps put on all 100 of our iPads. However I am reluctant to do so until I can find an answer to this question. I realize I would need VPP codes for paid apps but I also don't want to cheat the developer or break Apples Terms of Use policy when it comes to this.

I would contact your Apple Account executive, and they should be able to answer those questions. This is usually the easiest way to go with multiple deployments. I know our IT department at the community college where I work get great support from them when wanting to do things to the groups of iPads we have at the college.

Read the license agreement. A free app is free I'd say.

What apps are we talking about.

If these are 1-to-1 devices, I recommend using an MDM and VPP MD. You can "buy" as many free licenses as you want and push them out to the devices OTA silently (if the iPads are Supervised).
