Is it possible to have my Apple Store app (not App store) apple id different from that on my iTunes/App store? If so, how is that done?

Why would you want multiple Apple IDs? You have the ability to create another Apple ID if that is your question, just that you will not be able to use an email address from your original one.
You can set up another Apple ID and use it when logging into the Apple Store. Is that what you mean?
If so, go to: Apple - My Apple ID to set up the new ID.

I want to have an id for the Apple Store that is different from that used by the iTunes store. When I go to account settings on the Apple Store app, it is hard-coded (grayed out) to my iTunes ID so I can't log in with a new ID.
