busted EFI print driver on yosemite - 10.10.3

I take it this is a really, really long term problem with multiple revs of OSX -

running 10.10.3 trying to run EFI Fiery driver (version 1) and am getting this error --

"the optical photoconductor needs to be replaced" and the connection to the printer fails.

any ideas?

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

EFI resolved this issue many years ago. Have you checked if there is a later version of driver available for the model of EFI print controller that you are using?

Note also that since the EFI print controller supports Postscript you can create a printer using the Generic Postscript driver included with Yosemite. This driver will let you print in colour and duplex but that's all. If you need support for some other finishing features then check the EFI web site for their Fiery Express Driver.
