Q: trying to get my new wifi printer to print - is recognised by my mac, but remains unconnected, offline..

Just bought printer - Canon MG3250. have installed it and it is recognised by my Mac laptop as the default printer, with the wifi apparently working but it remains offline (not connected)

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

Network Printer Troubleshooting

Ping printer: If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.
