My iPad 2 keeps showing the apple logo right in the middle of me using it

So my iPad 2 is in the latest iOS 8.3. This happened right after I updated it straight from iOS 5.3. Right in the middle of using my iPad, completely at random, the screen will go to the Apple logo, like if it was updating. I have to wait awhile while it completes and my screen turns back to normal. But more often than not, right after its done loading, it happens IMMEDIATELY again. It's so frustrating that I have to completely stop using it for awhile. Any help or advise? I've tried turning it on and off, restoring it to factory settings and restore the iPad via iCloud backup.
