Q: Mouse and Keyboard intermittent with Yosemite and Bluetooth

My keyboard and mouse are erratic. I have seen a couple of suggestions , e.g that there is a clash between Yosemite and Bluetooth. I have tried a couple of ideas (cancelling handoff, etc) but I am still going crazy with the intemittent behavior of both.

Imac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Have you checked the batteries? May be coincidental with Yosemite upgrade.
