I just installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and my Final Cut Pro version 10.0.9 does not open anymore.

The latest version of Final Cut Pro is 10.2.1 try that.
I do not have access to an update and I do not want to spend another $300. Is there a way to update without having to download a new version that I have to pay for?
GGood avice from Averythomas. 10.0.9 will not run on Yoswmite. You will need to update.
So why don't you have access to an update?
The system does not prompt me for an automatic update. Don't want to spend another $300 to download the new version
you should go to the App Store and use the same Apple ID you used to purchas the applicacation
Did it and no luck. I purchased it when I was living in France and transferred my account to the US later on. Will try to talk to someone at Apple.
