Final cut pro X-Speed of the clip changes when importing it from library to the project

Hi all,

I am trying to add a blank space before my video starts. It's has already been exported into H.264 1080p by someone else. When I import it into the library everything is OK. But when I drag it into the project it speeds up and changes pitch. This has happened before but then it went back to normal again.

This is very frustrating. I have checked that there are not effects. Tried to look online for fixes but it does seem to come up.

Can anybody help?

Sounds liike a clip/project mismatch in properties.

Create an empty project and in the setting dialog window, make sure that adding the first clip is what automatically determines the project settings.
