Having a pop down menu alter another cell

I'm trying to create a table whereby the selection of a certain item from a pop down menu will chance the value in another cell, can anyone help me with this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Hi Sam,

This should not be too difficult. Where does the value in the cell you want to change come from and how do you want to change it? If it is entered data you will need another column to hold your changed data.
