white screen for a few seconds upon waking

Sometimes after my iMac has been sleeping for a while, when it wakes up, I get a white screen for a few seconds before the screen fills in. Does this indicate a problem? It's an iMac running OSX 10.8.5.

No. It's a short delay while the system reloads the saved screen from the disk-based sleep file.
