iphoto not working for 5k

does anyone else have this problem? i just bought the 27inch desktop 5k display MAY 2015 and i can't open iPhoto or update it. apple store message says item not available in the u.s. store. i don't know if it's because this system is new and not compatible yet ? i'd like to enjoy my computer and everything it comes with ugh so frustrating anyway help! ty!

iPhotos has been replaced with a new app called Photos. If it completed migrating your iPhoto Library, all your images are now also in Photos Library (Events are now Albums in a folder named iPhoto Events).


iPhoto and iPhoto Library remain on your drive and work as before. No images have been lost.

How to get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS X10.10.3.
