Smart albums vanished!

So I purchased a mac, have been using iphoto for two years, sorted 50,000 photos, set up smart albums and all my effort is lost? I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU DITCHED ALL MY WORK!!! WHO TOLD YOU YOU COULD DO THAT? My smart albums are just gone!
