Upgraded to OS X Yosemite, I Photo won't work

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite, my Iphoto won't work now. It says, "The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store." When I try to download, I get this, "The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store."

I have searched some forums, I don't see the previous version in my purchases. I am totally stuck and need to be able to get my photos.

Thanks,

iMac

I can view my photos in the new photos app. But i want to be able to edit them etc like I did in iPhoto!

Select a photo and use the Return key to enter the Edit mode. The edit tools will be at the right edge of edit window:

User uploaded file

When you click on the Adjust button click on the Add button and select all of the Adjust tools you want to be visible:

User uploaded file

That will give you this under Adjustments:
