Upgraded to OS X Yosemite, I Photo won't work

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite, my Iphoto won't work now. It says, "The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store." When I try to download, I get this, "The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store."

I have searched some forums, I don't see the previous version in my purchases. I am totally stuck and need to be able to get my photos.

You can access your snaps via the new Photos app if you're in a real big hurry.

Have you checked that iPhoto isn't hidden on your Purchases list? Are you logged in with the correct Apple ID?

Thank you so much Terence. My computer just prompted me to do another update (which I did) and it updated my iphoto to Photos and I can now access all of my photos so the problem is solved.

I really appreciate your quick reply.

Hello,

I also have this problem. I can view my photos in the new photos app. But i want to be able to edit them etc like I did in iPhoto! how do I get iPhoto back? Thanks
