File randomly disappears!!!
Product: Macbook Pro 15', 2012
Running Yosemite
So yesterday I got on my Macbook Pro and realized that my folder in Documents was randomly deleted or randomly disappeared. I know 100% SURE I didn't delete it. It was an extremely important folder. I had over 37GB of storage in it. I soon realized that I had 37 GB of free space in the "about my mac" section. I became extremely worried until I opened up Disk Utility and noticed that I actually had 19MB available, like it was before all of this nonsense happened! So that reminded me that the files HAD to still be on the hard drive somewhere.
I have contacted apple about this. (they were extremely supportive but no real answers)
I didn't have a prior time machine backup.
I tried data recovery software but no success.
Where could my data have gone? I didn't delete it! It just disappeared. I know it's still on my harddrive, just don't know exactly where...
Anyone had this problem or know what to do?
I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
