Windows cannot connect to home Wi-Fi

Hi,

I have an issue connecting to my home network via Wi-Fi while on Windows 8.1.

For some reason my network is not visible nor available in the wi fi network list. I see all my neighbours networks from the same ISP.

Yesterday I connected from Windows while I was on the coffee bar hotspot (same ISP). I never connected to that wi-fi from OS X.

When I boot in OS X everything is fine. From windows I can connect to internet via iPhone personal hotspot (can't test with neighbours wi-fi-s 🙂 ).

I tried to:

- update windows network adapter driver (have the latest version)

- checked Bootcamp version (5.1)

- deleted known networks from the list of networks in Windows

In addition I tried to remove my network from the list on OS X, disconnected from the wi fi, rebooted on Windows but no luck.

I successfully connected to wi fi network in my office so I guess it has to do with specific router that I got from ISP.

Router at my home is Zyxel WMG-5313-B30A.

Does anyone have an idea what to do now? Should I report this to Apple support?

1. Do you have any unknown devices in Control Panel -> Device Manager?

2. OSX and Windows maintain information separately. If OS X connects to your home network, but Windows does not, you need to use a tool like inSSIDer (or similar) and scan for networks.

This seems to be a normal connection. When this is the connection, what type of other issues do you see?

These are the connection details while I'm running OS X. On OS X there are no issues.

Issue is on Windows 8. I don't see the network SSID in the list.

Last night I tried changing varoious features on the router but nothing works.

I will contact ISP to change my home router. I don't see any other solution.

Do you have the appropriate Network Adapter drivers installed? Please check the list of Adapters listed in Windows under Control Panel -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Network Adapters.
