Reference bug crash awaiting fix. Can anyone advise how to turn off Notification centre on my Mac. Help facility doesn't help ?

Thought I already posed the question, a bit new to this. My question is how do I turn off notifications on my Mac. Do not disturb seems only option, though help suggests otherwise. I easily turned notifications on my phone and pad off, not so on the PC. May be overkill but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
