ee switched off sim by mistake, new sim but no 3 or 4g now

ee switched off my sim by mistake when we went sim only at end of 2 yr contract.

When they switched back on with a new sim I now have no 3 or 4 g only gprs. I've had another new sim from ee shop since and jumped through all the hoops with resets/total restore etc but still the same.

So they say it must be the phone. There was nothing wrong with the phone til they switched off the sim and of course my phone is now out of cover as our company is now sim only for business after toe two yr contract.

I don't want to have to pay apple just to get the phone checked, has anyone else had this problem or is there anything else anyone can suggest I try ? The phone is lightly used as I work from home, it's not jailbroken and is an I-phone 5, thanks.
