Group message members removed but no one removed them.

This is the second time this issue has occurred. I sent a message (using iMessage) to 7 people. After a few seconds I got 4 notifications in the message thread that one person in the group removed 4 other people. The thing is that the person who it indicated removed the others was fast asleep.

The same occurred a few weeks ago with another iMessage group.

Any ideas?
