Why is there no 5ghz channel option on my extreme?

Hi,

I'm using an airport extreme as a router I think it's from 2009. And an airport express as an extender. Think from 2012. When I tried to manually adjust the channels I noticed that the wireless options are different. As you can see on the screenshots. Is this cause the extreme is to old and doesn't it support 5ghz??
