I wondering if you could help. See whenever I log into terminal, my computer identifies as | pc7:~ *username*$ | and pc7 is in no way the name my computer...
Any form of help would greatly appreciated thanks.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), null

sudo scutil --set HostName whatever-you-want

If that doesn't work, the hostname is being set to the result of a reverse lookup of your IP address on a local DNS server, most likely your gateway.
