Q: My apple tv is not responding

and only brings up black screen stating 'can not sign in'. Remote control does not allow to select 'ok' or to go back...?

hold down the menu and play/pause button until your Apple TV restarts.

In case the instructions mentioned by Averythomas don't work, try to restore your Apple TV.

I have tried resetting using remote which doesn't work. I have tried switching off and on several times which doesn't work and I can't access the settings as the screen is such and remote does not allow me to move away from the can not sign in message. Light flashes on apple tv box when i use the remote so i'm sure the battery still works. Can't connect via airplay either.
