Can't download photos from camera or card reader

I have an iPad Air 2 and I purchased the lightning to USB camera adapter. When I attach my camera, it says device not recognized. When I attach my card reader, it says device requires too much power. I have a CF card, not an SD, so Apple does not offer a reader that works. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Howdy,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like there’s an issue with your iPad recognizing your camera, which is connected with the the iPad Camera Connection Kit, and you’re also seeing an alert message when connecting a CompactFlash memory card.

Take a look at the article linked below which provides a lot of great information about alert messages and troubleshooting tips that’ll resolve most connection issues.
