FCP X not reflecting 10.2.1 update.

FCP X not reflecting 10.2.1 update.

I downloaded the 10.2.1 update for FCP X through the app store and it shows as installed through the app store, but when I open FCP X it still says it is 10.2, and won't open a file from my boss that was created with 10.2.1.

I'm running OS X 10.10.3

iMac 21.5-in Mid 2010

Processor 3.06 Ghz Intel Core i3

Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB

I've never had a problem with FCP before. Just for some reason the program won't reflect the update that was installed. I haven't completely deleted FCP and re-installed yet. That's kind of a last ditch option.

Has anyone else run into this?

I Suspect it update another copy on another drive. Do a search and if you follow no it replace the app in Applications. If not youll have to redownload from the purchases page.

As usual, Tom is probably right. To confirm this: go to the Finder, press Cmd-Shift-A to open a window showing your applications folder; locate Final Cut Pro X there and press Cmd-I to open Get Info. I bet it says 10.2.1.
