I received an Alert that I just was infected with Tapsnake. The Alert offers Mackeeper as a means to remove the virus. Is it safe to download and will this work as represented?

No. Ignore the message but keep an eye out for odd behavior on the computer; if there's actually malware on it, there are better ways to get rid of that.

Tapsnake is Android malware. There's no possible way your Mac could be infected with that. This is just a scam to try to scare you into downloading MacKeeper.
Tap snake alert, suggesting that I download Mackeeper to remove. Is this safe to do?
