Photos in iPhoto pop up for a second and then disapear. iP4S iOS 8.3

Soooo as I'm learning to deal with no Wi-Fi capability and the cost of that with iOS 8.3... my problems have evolved into now iPhoto and iOS 8.3 are not connecting. When I plug my photo is and iPhoto starts up, the photos form the phone pop up for a brief second and then disappear. It's one thing for me to have to pay overages on my data plan when I lost W-Fi, but now I'm loosing someting invaluable, videos of my kids graduation..... NOT HAPPY APPLE
