How to copy column from Numbers to Pages?

I have a Numbers spread sheet with the first column listing last name, first name. It runs to 700+ names plus other columns containing data. I need to copy the last name,first name column and paste it into a Pages document to show just the list of names, hopefully in three columns. When I copy the column of names and paste it into a Pages document it appears as a table. How can I just get the names in three columns?
