Problem with headset

Hello everybody,

I'm kind of new user on mac os, but I work with IT and then, be a new user on a new system isn't difficult to me.

But, i'm having some problem with my headset that doesn't work on mac, just on Windows. It is a Microsoft Lifechat LX-1000. The sound works perfectly, but the microphone doesn't work. I saw people saying to use the Audio Mid Setup, but it doesn't work at all ... Does anybody have an idea if it really works with Mac? And if yes, what should I do to make this headset work?

I'm using a mac mini late 2014 with OS X Yosemite.

Thanks

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Late 2014

Does the headset have to plugs?

The Mini's Mic input is line-in level and does not work with simple headsets. You can purchases and adopter that will combine the headphone's 3.5 mm earphone plug and 3.5 mm mic plug into one 3.5 mm plug. The Mini's headphone ports supports a mic input in addition to earphones/speaker
