How do you stop text messages from synching to Apple Watch?

I've got my watch setup so that I don't get notifications on text messages that come in, but I don't want any of them on my watch at all. Is there a way to stop them from synching entirely?

Apple Watch, Watch OS 1.0.1

On the Watch App on your iPhone, go to Notifications, then go to Messages.

Tap Custom (as opposed to Mirror my iPhone) and turn OFF all options for Show Alerts, Sound and Haptic. I believe the the Messages will still be sent to the Watch (and therefore be in the Messages app on the Watch) but I guess you won't get bothered by the notifications.

right. Thanks, @swandy. I did that already. However, I don't even want the messages on the Watch. While turning off the notifications for them is helpful, it doesn't solve my problem of not allowing them to sync in the first place.

You can setup an iPad with your Apple ID and exclude having TXT/SMS and/ or FaceTime calls come to it. I was looking for much the same thing for Messages and quite honestly every other notification that gets sent.

Perhaps that will come in a future WatchOS update.
