Pages '09 v4.3 is the last revision of a former, but functional Pages that actually works on Yosemite. Pages v5.5.3 is an entirely different application that lacks 100+ features found in Pages '09 v4.3. That means it will omit, or mangle unsupported functionality it finds in Pages '09 documents. Once saved, these documents are not backwards compatible, unless exported as Pages '09. No two-pages up, no linked text boxes, no mail merge, no bookmarks .... the list goes on.
