How do you replace a previous iCloud account?

II'm trying to create my own iCloud account I currently under my wife's iCloud account on my iPad Air. I can't download much on my iPad because we're under the same account. I created my own Apple and itone account, but I can't remove my wife's account.

Have you gone to Settings>iTunes & App Store and signed your Wife's Apple ID off?

You should sign her ID out of all of the following apps on the iPad and sign in your new ID:

Settings>iCloud

Settings>Messages

Settings>FaceTime

and also set up your own Mail account.
