On an iphone 5s I have the fingerprint reader and 4 digit password code set.
How can I adjust (make longer) the amount of time before I have to use fingerprint or passcode digits?
It requires them WAY too quickly and the settings when changed doesn't change it???
Help appreciated.

You can change the time until the phone locks by going into Settings>General>Autolock. If you're using TouchID, once the screen locks, the phone will also lock. That's not changeable.

There is no way to adjust the time sadly.
Is there a way to turn off touch ID (or whatever needs to be turned off) so that it is adjustable?
In settings it appears to be changeable just as it was when I had an ipod touch.
If you go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode, and turn off the two buttons under "Use Touch ID" (i.e., turn off iPhone Unlock and iTunes & App Store), then you will have the option of requiring the Lock Screen passcode from anywhere between Immediately and 4 Hours.
