after upgrading to yosemite i am unable to launch iphoto. i get a message to download a free iphoto upgrade from the APP store but when i go there i receive a message that the upgrade is not available in the US. can someone direct me on what to do? im not seeing any iphoto updates anywhere.
have i lost all my photos?

Your photos are safe in your iPhoto library
You can view them using iPhoto version 9.6.1 or the new Photos program

Since your iPhoto Library if an iPhoto 7.1.5 library you'll have to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 on it before you'll be able to open it with iPhoto 9.6.1 or Photos. You'll see this when you first run the upgrader:
When installed the upgrader will be located in your Applications/Utilities folder.
