Finding all the albums for one photo

Hi,

After a migration from Aperture, the corresponding albums created by Photo are baffling me.

Trying to clean up this mess I would need to find all the albums where one specific photo is referenced.

Not only do I have duplicated photos (with different dates) but I also have photos in multiple albums.

I need to first have 1 photo - 1 album then I can start cleaning the duplicates.

Do you know a way to find all the album references for one photo?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Photos does not provide a way to show how many albums a photo is in, but regardless of how many albums a photo appears in, that still is just one copy of the photo itself.

Also, regarding 'cleaning' out duplicates, see either of the following regarding how many copies of images there actually are on your drive:

Ok thanks.

I do understand that folders are references only.

But I also found the exact same pictures with different file names, that's the one I consider duplicates.

I didn't use iPhoto, only Aperture and I've noticed the sharing of image since both my Aperture image library and Photo image library were about 60GB, but when I deleted the Aperture photo library I didn't save 60GB from my hard drive.

Anyway, is there at least a way to find a picture without album?

I can use this to remove a picture from all albums and then add it back to only 1.

Smart album with "Album", "is not" and "Any" criteria would work?

When you migrated your Aperture Library to Photos Library, your files were NOT duplicated. Both apps use hard links to the same files on your disk. That's why deleting the Aperture Library did not regain you 60 GB of free space. The only thing you actually deleted are the database files that were needed by Aperture.

This is the same notion that R C-R is trying to explain about Albums not duplicating images. Please read the articles he so kindly provided to you.
