Q: Make travel time in calendar the default?

I would like to make the travel time from my current location (just before the time of the event) the default in Apple's Calendar app on Yosemite.

Is that possible?

Best regards, Gabriel

I think this is about the best you can do.

Calendar Travel Time - From Calendar help.

Click the event’s date, then choose an option from the Travel Time menu.Add travel time

When you add travel time, you can:

    • Choose to see travel time from your starting location to the event’s location. To set your starting location, Calendar first looks for your location in any events that are up to three hours before this event. If Calendar doesn’t find a location, it uses your work address during work hours and your home address during other hours. (Your work hours are set in Calendar preferences using the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” menus.) If your card in Contacts doesn’t have your addresses, Calendar uses your computer’s current location.Choose the displayed days and timesSet up your contact cardNote: Travel time doesn’t update automatically when you change locations.
    • Get notifications before the travel time.If Calendar is set to notify you before events, you’ll get any notifications before the travel time.

    Hi,

But is there a way to set the Travel Time to automatically be active when you define an address and the Alert to "At start of Travel Time", all at the moment of event creation?

    Isn't this obvious?

Calendar is already smart enough guessing the start location.

This is such a great feature, but it is a pain to do it manually every time...

Edit: Actually, when you active Travel Time, the default alert is "10 minutes before travel time", which is OK..
