iPad Air not turning on

hi

I have an iPad 5 on the newest update and it ran out of battery, I tried to turn it on and the apple logo screan came up for longer than usual and the it just went black I have tried to turn it on many times now and it still isn't working. Can this be fixed?

You may need to restore it in iTunes or keep it plugged in for about 12 hours then try.

The iPad has been on charge for quiet a while now and when i plugged it into iTunes it appeared up the top and then when i clicked onto it it said iPad not found. thanks anyway
