i have a new i phone 6 with a new one year warranty does this warranty cover my one year old i phone 4 headphones

The warranty for your old iPhone, including everything in the box, was one year. If you bought your iPhone 4 new less than a year ago, then it is still under warranty. Otherwise, it is not.
warranty is not up to the manufactor it's the laws if the country you live in
warranty is to save the buyer from issues with a device from the production of the device as in caused before the buyer received the device
but only discovered later on
so no buying a new phone does nothing for the warranty of the older phones headset
