iPhoto (and Image Capture) showing double images on iphone

Hi

When I connect my iPhone 6+ to my iMac, iPhotos and Image Capture will show me two of each photo.

Each photo pair has the same file name/number.

If I delete one of the images in Image Capture, both are deleted from my phone.

I believe I have HDR, iCloud and Photos set to off. I'm not sure what else could be the cause.

iPhoto also has a hard time importing these images and I get the spinning wheel for infinity.

Is it a phone setting? Or an iMac setting?
