Aperature Photos Lost

I went to open aperture and all of my photos were gone. If i try to use i cloud back up it brings back some of my photos but not all of my photos and not in the same order it brings them back by a date. I had them all save by date and then projects. How do I find my photos and get the same format and order back?

I can tell you that there is a chance i did an update as i do all the updates my computer tells me to do. I'm not very computer savvy so i did not move them to save them elsewhere.
