Does Backing up my iPhone cause Apple pay card removal?

i Just noticed this morning from a notice from CitiBank that the card was removed and when I went to Passbook, I noticed another credit card was also removed. The only thing I did yesterday is use my Aaple watch and backed up my iPhone.

Would backing up the iPhone with an encrypted backup, remove credit cards in the Passbook?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

Hey there Siretman,

As I understand it you backed up your phone and then got a notification email saying that your credit card was removed from Passbook. In general no, that should not happen. I would start troubleshooting the software on the phone by quitting the Settings, and the Passbook apps:

iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Then add the card back to Passbook if you haven't already and test the issue for a bit to see if it recurs.
