Q: DVD write problem/error msg.

I am having trouble burning DVD's.  I am getting an error message that says SENSE KEY = MEDIUM ERROR.  SENSE CODE = 0X0C.  WRITE ERROR. IMac.  10.10.3.  I have tried both IDVD and Toast.  I've tried the DVD anyway, it seems to load but then get an error msg that says something like "can't access damaged segment".   Has my drive died?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

The DVD you are trying to write on may not be compatible I would try using another DVD.

If you're trying to create a video DVD with either iDVD or Toast first save the completed project as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.

That will isolate the burning issues with the encoding issues.  Next burn the disk image to disk with Disk Utility and at the slowest speed possible, 2x - 4x.  Also use top quality media like Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R.

What brand media are you using and at what burn speed?
