How to restore only messages from iphone back up?

Hi,

I accidentally just deleted all the boyfriend's messages (text and imessages) from my phone after 5 year relationship... I really want to restore them but I didn't have an icloud backup for messages and my last itunes backup is a bit old.
Can I go to my last itunes backup and only backup the messages from him? or at lease just text messages and not other apps?
