Alright so my friend got the effective power text, but the person removed the words "effective power" and put "allahu akbar!!!" Instead. the text looks like this
So now my friends phone constantly turns on and off, with only a second break inbetween turning on and shutting back off. We have tried restarting it but that didn't work, and there isn't enough time between restarts to go into the phone and/or settings. Any suggestions?

My friend doesn't have enough time to shut off the iPhone, she got the text sent to her just as her phone died, so it's stuck in a viscous cycle of just turning on and turning back off
The best you can do is either wait for the device battery to die, or try to force it into Recovery mode the best they can. This seems to be more than just the iMessage exploit going on here, as I've not seen others experiencing this reboot issue.

Did you read the support article Chris linked for you which addresses that exact situation?
Yes, she doesn't have enough time to power the phone off before it goes to a white screen with the apple logo on it
With the phone connected to iTunes, press both the home and lock buttons until the Apple logo appears, then continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode

I recieved the same text and my phone cycled once.
It also happened to my Apple Watch and having read the above and othe rthreads on this, I am worried now that this will affect my watch so have unsynched it with my phone. Can somsone from Apple advise when w ewill be getting the latest iOS that resolves this issue?
