Can't Change Apple ID primary address? New address to use is already in use?

I intend on changing my old Apple Id primary email address with one i have just made, but when trying to change it, it said my new email i had just create had already been used and was unavailable. Help Anyone?

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.1.1

you can edit the settings in https://appleid.apple.com/ or by calling apple.

I have tried that, but after entering the new email address i wish to use, it says it is already in use. I just created the new email though.
